Funny talk

-- Use fire to test gold, use gold to test women, use women to test men.

-- Be optimistic about the future, be pessimistic about people's hearts.

-- We have a little problem here: she wishes I could change dirt to gold, I wish she would consider gold as dirt.

-- Children take toys as friends, adults take friends as toys.

-- People tell lies with real names in real life, but tell truth with "imagine" names on Internet.

-- Before success, wife is also secretary; after success, secretary is also wife.

-- It likely we're coming into the century which only money can prove love.

-- There are many ways to destroy friendship, the best way is to borrow money.

-- Sometimes explanation is not needed: enemies don't believe it and friends don't require it.

Travel to Uzbekistan

In March this year,I went to Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan for about two weeks.

Even though I arrived there at midnight, but when I saw the city through the hotel shuttle,I was surprised to find that the streets are so wide and in good condition, buildings more or less are European style, streetlights were shining brightly, drivers obey the traffic rules. Tashkent impressed me a lot.

I stayed in the Intercontinental Hotel. The first day was a fine day. After the luxury breakfast in the hotel,I took a walk. There is a Japanese garden behind the hotel, with a small lake, lots of trees. I saw people feed ducks along the bank.

There is a TV tower on the north,a revival restaurant in the middle of the tower. You would enjoy the view of the city while you have wine, traditional food, listening to the live music.

There is a metro station just in front of the hotel. Taking photos is not allowed. There are guards 24 hours in every single station. Once I transferred ed metro line,I looked at the walls and roof, thought about how great work they made, wanting to memorize the wonderful art of design and amazing color. When I got on the train I noticed two guards followed me to the same car and looking at me now and then. When I got off, they followed too, until I went up to the ground,I looked back and couldn't see them. They were so cautious! I was told that there was a bombing attack in a metro station a few years ago.

The coming weekend we went to Bukhara,a big trading city in ancient silk road. We stayed in an old style hotel, trying to feel the ancient people's life,of course it's not possible, everything getting much better although many old buildings are still there, repairing by generations all the time.

The trading building are very special. It was so cold inside you have to wear winter coat, but outside you can wear a T-shirt. Imagine several centuries ago, people came from all over Asia Europe, middle east, traded here in hot and desert dry summer, camels were the transportation tool, what a hard work!

Now let me tell you something amazing me. Each time we went to restaurants,we had to take a bunch of local bills. Dollars are forbidden in any trade, the country law says. The biggest bill is 1000 cum, equals about $ 0.70. So can you imagine when we paid 100 bills,it would take us some time to count. When we asked whether we should take a full car money to buy a new car,we were told that only Dollar is accepted.

During the dinner with a local friend,he stopped talking about politics when the waiter came with dishes. Later he explained that he was so afraid that the waiter would report him to the police, and he would end of die in the prison. I couldn't believe in nowadays there is such things happen.

On the way back to China,I checked in the airport. A guard asked me to show him the receipt of the hotel I stayed in. I explained I didn't have it because my husband was still there for a few days longer. Then he took my passport away. In about five minutes later he returned and told me everything was OK.

Travel to Kyrgyzstan 1

When I checked in San Diego airport,I was asked amazingly:"Where is Kyrgyzstan?" Well,it's located in central Asia. It has borders with Kazakhstan,China,Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. In 1991 it became independent of the Soviet Union. About 90% of the land are mountains. The capital is Bishkek, over one million population, official languages are Russia and Kirghiz.

About an hour driving,we went to the mountains where locals come for vacation over the weekends. Even the president of Kyrgyzstan has a summer house there.

Bishkek is the greenest city in this region. There is a one-block wide belt park going just through the city center. Trees and lawns scatter all over the flat land. Loads of statues sit silently in the park, looking at the changes of the seasons, people, and the city. Mostly on weekends, brides and grooms make memorable photos in the beautiful, full of flowers Oak Park.
