Travel to Kazakstan

We went to Almaty one weekend in October. It was sunny, warm .Streets are wide and trees are showing their beauty in this time. We just walked aroung causurally to explore the city.

The office building looks gorgious.

New Condo(we think) is brilient.

We saw many fountains on the way, but this one looks greet.

Beautiful garden with the statue is one of the attractions in the new part of the city.

Theater.

In residence area, the street is quiet and nice.

Just a street.

There is a walking street. Some people sell toys on either side.

Much more beautiful in the evening.

Troditional Kazak food in this local restaurant, also European restaurant on the second floor.

Silk way business center. We bought some Germen becan and vegi which we couldn't find in Bishkek.

Everything is prety good except there are too many homeless dogs wandering in the streets. So the tregidy happened when we were walking back to the hotel we stayed in, a dog, bit Lew's ankle from behind.

Kyrgyz Wedding

Last night we joined a Kyrgyz Wedding in a restaurant in Bishkek. I got some ideas about Kyrgyz troditions. We were invited to get there at 17:30. When we got there at 18:00,we found out that we were in a early group. Most guests showed up around 19:00.

This is the feast. One table for ten persons. Fruit bowl in the middle, one fish dish and one chicken dish, double five salad dishes plus candy. They killed a horse for the feast. So some salad mixed horse meat, and one horse intestine salad. Later they served horse meat soup.

The bride and groom came in on a white silk cloth with fresh flower shower.

They sat in this special seats with best man and maid on each side.
Two beautiful girls performanced the belly dance.
Then the bride and the groom's parents gave speaches.

The bride and the groom came down dancing with guests.

The grooms grandparents gave speaches.

More performances. The singer is wearing the troditional gown.

Guests dance.

The bride's grandmother who was 91 years old gave present(money in red envelop) to the groom.

The colleages of the groom's parents gave speaches, later the colleages of the groom gave speaches, too(including Lew and me)

Then many older people started to leave, and youngsters danced. We left in five minutes. So I was told that later they shared the wedding cake, and people took doggy bags home if they hadn't finished their table food.
